Pintos are piebald horses, which are mainly known as Indian - and Western horses.
Pintos have unique, beautiful coat drawings, which give the horses even more personality. Nevertheless, Pintos do not form a breed of their own. They are a color breed, which can be found in almost all breeds. In terms of coat patterns, a distinction is made between Overo and Tobiano. Overos have a colored coat with white patches. Also their head is often completely white. This is called a lantern. Tobianos, on the other hand, have a white coat with colored markings. Legs and back remain mostly white.
Pinto is Spanish and means as much as painted.
