Trilobites are an extinct genus of arthropods that resemble today´s arrowhead crabs and are related to modern crustaceans and insects. Very recently, paleontologists unearthed the fossil of a giant trilobite that had lived in the primordial oceans of what is now Australia about 540 millennia ago.
Based on this discovery, CollectA had the idea to make a model of the giant Redlichia rex trilobite. This animal disappeared from the Earth in the mass extinction about 252 mill years ago.
